About Us
Dakhan Tarik Egyptians is owned and operated by Paul and Jillian Whitlow since 2007. Jillian has been showing and owning horses all of her life so following her family's footsteps of breeding Straight Egyptians was only a natural thing to do. After Culinary school and working in restaurants I couldn't help but know that I had to figure out how to bring my two passions together, Jillian quit her job in 2007 to start both her catering company and Dakhan Tarik.
Paul and Jillian married in 2007 as well and we decided that we both wanted to pursue owning our own mare and start breeding, so we bought the beautiful mare EE LadyHawke as our foundation mare. Paul wasn't a die hard horse person like Jillian, but quickly shared my passion. We figured that with Paul's background in the Air Force in the Bomb Squad he could handle the horse breeding business! We live in an old farm house that we have been renovating since 2006, we are very fortunate to be able to look out any of our windows in our house and see these amazing creatures. Jillian also has started the program Kids 4 Horses using the Egyptian Arabian to teach kids responsibility, self esteem and forgiveness through both ground work and riding. This program has been extremely successful that offers individual riding lessons and week long summer day camps, please check out the Kids 4 Horses page for more information.
